Eye of the Storm Story Summary It is an expository text about tornadoes, hurricanes, and other storms that storm chasers will follow. The story takes place in the desert of the US state of Arizona, and in Tucson, Arizona. When the cool, moist air is heated by the hot desert, storm clouds form. That's why Tucson has summer thunderstorms. Warren is a storm chaser so his life follows these weather patterns. He follows tornadoes in spring, thunderstorms in the summer time, and hurricanes in the fall. When weather forecasters predict a storm of any kind, Warren will fly out to see it. That's part of being a real storm chaser. He likes to take videos of hurricanes because it's possible to film when the destruction is in progress. During Hurricane Andrew, Warren sets up a command center in Miami, Florida. When he is there with two of his storm chaser friends, they stockpile food, water, and rope to prepare for the hurricane.
